QLD W2W Ride update (as at 7 August 2020) is as follows:

Due to the current Border Restrictions there will be no official Qld Police ride to Canberra.  The situation is too fluid, complicated by the probability of Qld riders having to undergo mandatory hotel quarantine on return.  It is with great disappointment that QLD have had to cancel this part of the ride.

There will still be a satellite ride within Qld and details will be posted in due course.  An ‘Official route’ announcement is due at end of August.  Importantly, all registered riders are encouraged to ride any route of their personal preference.

The baton ceremony will still go ahead as planned at this time and it is anticipated the official ride will head west and north from the ceremony to give riders opportunity to visit localities of fallen officers that are significant to you.  Most probable loop at this time is Botanical Gardens, Toowoomba, Kingaroy, Monto to Rockhampton / Yeppoon – return home.

A meet point for Saturday afternoon at 4pm is being planned to join for the Facebook Live stream of the Canberra ceremony.

The Qld Committee foresees a one day lay day stopover in Rocky / Yeppoon area to enable riders from all parts of Queensland the opportunity to catch up, reminisce, remember and honour our fallen in and around the pertinent localities of central Queensland.  EG, Riverview, Alton Downs, Mt Larcom, Rolleston, Flaggy Creek via Camilla.

Any updates , changes, issues will be emailed out accordingly and as they occur to assist you in planning your attendance this year.
